- Description
- Volume II chronicles Sarah Shurtleff's travels in Europe. She visits and sees: cathedrals, an amphitheatre, bullfighting, the Piazza Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, churches, Giotto's chapel, the church of St Augustine, the Austrian Alps, and a picture gallery. More everyday details are also included such as: the hotels they stayed in, the food they ate and the acquaintances they met. Throughout the journal there are numerous paste-ins and inserts of ephemera, such as picture cards, illustrating the places they visit.
