- The diary includes passenger lists, maps, dried flowers, photographs, clippings, postcards and other ephemera. Alice Northrop writes in the diary of plants, flowers and birds she encounters. During her travels she visits botanical gardens, cathedrals and museums. When in Paris she visits many of the main tourist attractions including the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame, the ouvre, the Parc de Saint-Cloud, the Palace of Versailles, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Museum, tomb of Napoleon, the Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries gardens.
