- Description
- These chronicles were copied into this volume from an original diary of a trip to England which was written while travelling (see ref. A170 box 15 212). It incorporates information learned from books about the areas visited. Tourist attractions that Shurtleff visited include: the Champs-Elysées, Notre-Dame, the Latin Quarter in Paris, Stonehenge, the British Museum, the National Gallery, Lynton church, various cathedrals, and Westminster Hall in the Palace of Westminster. Shurtleff also has dinner at the American embassy, goes on various coach trips, and visits a poorhouse. Picture cards, photographs and other ephemera which illustrate her travels are pasted in and inserted throughout the volume.
